Founded in 1860, The Olympic Club is the oldest athletic club in the United States. Its Lake Course was designed by Sam Whiting and Willie Watson, then renovated by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner in 2023. Nestled in cypress-lined hills above the Pacific, it has quietly decided some of golf's biggest moments — including Ken Venturi's 1964 win, Billy Casper's comeback over Arnold Palmer in 1966, and Webb Simpson's title in 2012.

🏛️ By the Numbers: The Lake Course has hosted five U.S. Opens (1955, 1966, 1987, 1998, 2012) and the 2021 U.S. Women's Open — and its championship résumé isn't finished. Olympic will host its first-ever PGA Championship in 2028 and the Ryder Cup in 2033. No PGA TOUR event falls on our calendar this September, but few courses anywhere carry this much major-championship history.
