Opened in 1957, Torrey Pines is a 36-hole municipal course owned by the City of San Diego — proof that some of golf's toughest tests are open to the public. The South Course was redesigned by Rees Jones ahead of the 2008 U.S. Open, stretching it into a true championship venue perched on the cliffs above the Pacific in La Jolla.

🏛️ By the Numbers: The South Course has hosted two U.S. Opens — Tiger Woods' iconic 2008 playoff win over Rocco Mediate, and Jon Rahm's 2021 title. It's also the annual home of the PGA TOUR's San Diego stop, now called The Sentry (formerly the Farmers Insurance Open) — though that event is played in late January, so no PGA TOUR event falls on our calendar this October.
